THE EFFECTIVENESS OF KANGAROO AND INCUBATOR CARE METHODS TO INCREASE BODY TEMPERATURE IN BABIES WITH LOW BIRTH WEIGHT

Low Birth Weight (LBW) infants are at risk of experiencing various health problems. One them that often occurs is an unstable body temperature and tends to be hypothermic. This study aims determine the effectiveness Kangaroo Method Care (KMC) incubator treatment increase in LBW infants. used a Quasi Experiment Design technique with Pre-test Post-test Group design. The sample this were all according inclusion criteria, which 30 babies. was divided into two intervention groups, namely 15 KMC nursing incubator, given for 2 hours per day period 3 days. sampling purposive sampling. In group, average pretest value 36.59°C posttest 37.06°C. comparison, group intervention, 36.4°C 36.8°C. Based on results independent t-test statistical test, significance 0.035, p <0.05. showed increasing infants' 0.4640 (SD = 0.08998), while infant 0.3953 0.07909). application equally effective LBW.
